If an Aries dog chooses to adopt you, make sure you have a lot of energy. The first sign of the Zodiac, they are spirited and vivacious with an antic sense of humor.

ARIES DOGS ARE NEVER BORING

You could lose 10 pounds with an Aries dog. You will never be bored, and they'll keep you constantly on your toes – literally. Given the choice, they would rather run than walk, so you'll probably lose a couple of pounds when you bring these spring babies into your household. Playful, entertaining and eager to please, their highest goal is keeping their pet parents amused.

Aries dogs love to explore the outdoors and get their exercise in with a nice view. To keep your Aries moving, try choosing creative options like launching toys, automated rolling balls, and even doggie puzzles to stimulate their brains. The more you can keep your Aries dog moving, the happier they will be. It’s likely that your Aries dog will love joining you on daily strolls, kayaking trips (when the waters are calm), or even dock jumping if you have the time. If you’re not already, hiking is a great way to exercise your eager Aries and challenge them with new terrain types. ARIES DOG PERSONALITY: CHARMING BUT IMPATIENT

While charming, they can be pushy and a little impatient and not above a gentle head butt (Aries rules the head) to get your attention or to get a little scratch under their chin.

They do not want to wait for their treats, or anything else, really. They want everything right now, and if made to wait, they might take it out on your loafers, or the legs of furniture, just to let you know they mean business. Fearless, even if they're small (especially if they're small), they are not above fighting, and they're not intimidated by any dog, even a bossy Bullmastiff. Fortunately, they're more bark than bite – just hope that the Bullmastiff is too! They are most compatible with pet parents who can handle their big personalities, preferably other fire signs, such as Leo and Sagittarius, or a cool-headed Aquarian.

Aries dogs get along best with other fire signs, but as a life-long companion we recommend a grounded Taurus canine to settle their eagerness or even a Gemini dog to match their own endless energy. And Zodiac signs aside, an Aries dog is going to thrive with another dog that wants run, play and exercise just as much as they do.
